It’s been a tough week here in Glastonbury. Our very good friend and business partner passed away on Wednesday. You never really get a moment to catch your breath when something like this happens. People come toward you on the first day to give you a hug. After that, their arms are stretched, but only their hands are out. I am so disappointed in so many people. John would be as well.

One thing John always said to me was that he wished to pass by misadventure. So whenever someone asks, that’s what we tell them. After all, dying is a very personal thing. I feel all wishes should be respected. We are doing our best to carry on. And miss him so very, very much.

This weekend was also the Glastonbury medieval fair. And we had a great time. Wandering around the exhibits and seeing the jousting and many, many knights in shining armour. And more than once, toasting our good friend.

Sunday was another day in the Abbey, and of course, a traditional Sunday carvery. A bit of several roasts and all the trimmings kept me very full for a couple of days.

This weekend in the shop, we are celebrating Beltane. The wonderful Anne Stokes is doing a pop-up art exhibit; we are getting ready for her show. We were in town last year for Beltane, and I am looking forward to being here again this year.

Three Card Reading

A little dose of guidance for a complicated world!

Image of Betty Jane Ware's Three Card Reading - Four of Wands - Seven of Cups - Eight of Wands

Challenge: Four of Wands
You have been through some hard times; it is now time to take that time out. Get some rest and meditate. Take some time in solitude to realize that self-care is not selfish. Your recovery will begin when this is accomplished, so rest and feel renewed.

Guidance: Seven of Cups
The Seven of Cups indicates that you have made many choices; it is time to focus on making a decision. Although you may be tempted by the many options, maybe some of those options are pure fantasy. Be careful what you wish for and focus on what you need.

Proceed: Eight of Wands
Things are moving quickly now; it is great that you are fast on your feet and that you can keep up. Enjoy the excitement and move forward.

What it all means:
Patience pays off; soul searching for the win. After a timeout or period of meditation, you have sorted your priorities. Now the race is on.
