Another month, another airport. I am leaving The Readers Studio Tarot Conference in New York. It was a fun-filled weekend catching up with UK and US friends and, of course, making new friends as well. I was privileged to be asked to do an interview with Liz Dean (she brought me Tunnocks Tea Cakes). I was the interviewer and asked the questions. She has written 23 books and has authored and created several decks, including The Game of Thrones. I think we did well.
The conference itself was different from the one I regularly attend in London. I was asked to compare and try to explain the differences. A friend summed it up beautifully: Readers studio, you come to socialize and then learn. UK Tarot Conference, you go to learn and then socialize. The Western Australian Conference is set up more like the UK conference.
I was sharing a room with my good friend Callie. The woman wakes up beautiful. She is a person I met in London, and we hit it off right away. We were in our beds on our last night in New York with the lights off. We looked over and saw two flashing green lights on the wall. It was the smoke detector. This has never happened in the previous days. Suddenly, the room became brighter, and we realized the TV set was glowing the way it did when it first turned on, with no picture, just a glow. Then it stopped. By this time, we were sitting up and could see each other clearly. We had no idea what had happened, then we realized we might have had a visitor. So Callie said loudly, “Please go away; you are not welcome here.” We were not bothered again. It might be interesting to note that I was called Mary Jane every time we were in the room together, but if we left the room, Callie would get it right and call me Betty Jane. So we decided that whoever was in the room with us was Mary Jane.

I have a very full schedule this month. I just looked at my online calendar and realized I have limited availability, so book fast if you need a reading. I am also doing my last few Ontario shows of the Spring season. You can pre-book for the best availability. The last time I did the Barrie show, the wait times were LONG. No pre-payment is necessary!
